George R. R. Martin, one of my favorite fantasy writers, posted a link in his non-blog to the following warning Robin Hobb wrote about the dangers of blogging to fiction writers…
Makes me feel guilty – my current excuse for not writing is legit (a 3-month-old at home and a lack of sleep make it a bit hard to get into the zone), but considering how seductive blogging was before the baby, I think it’s a good point about what a time-sink (and creativity-sink) blogging can be if you’re trying to write something else, be it a CS paper or an article or a novel.
And so I blog about it, of course
