So in spite of my near-worship of Dr. Harvey Karp from a few weeks past, young Master Grothoff was not really napping after that freak incident.
So when, this morning at 9 after some very stressful tummy time (he can hold his big ole’ head up an inch or so for quite some time on the floor and is starting to lift it all the way up a little more each day – he’s been able to lift it while on us for a while now, but not flat on the floor) which involved a lot of Mama saying “Good job Torsten! Good job!” and trying to get him to keep lifting his head without getting so frustrated he’d cry, our little Mr. T was looking tired. So, taking the advice of the doctor, I put him down sleepy, and lo and behold, at 9:30 am he’s taking a nice unswaddled nap on his own.
That’s right – the baby fell asleep without being rocked. Woo hoo!
Now, with my luck, this will be an isolated incident and never happen again, but I can hope, can’t I?
