He better, at least, not be bigger than a breadbox. Ouuuch…
Nah, according to BabyCenter, our little guy himself (not the uterus, obviously) is now about the size of a large onion, which explains why my belly sticks out more and is a lot less mushy than it used to be. It’s hard to get used to!
I still feel little signs of movement, which I enjoy when they come along – they feel much less like a cell phone and a lot more like soft little pokes. However, it doesn’t happen all that often – this isn’t uncommon at this point anyway, but I’ve also been told I have an anterior placenta (on the front wall of the uterus), so his little kicks and punches are cushioned by the placenta and I won’t feel real active movement until much later. This isn’t abnormal or anything, it just means I get less fun with the Small Monster early on!
(N.B. It’s hard not to call him by his name in these posts!
)
Otherwise, I’m doing fine – it’s still really hot here (I want a vacation to somewhere cooooold!), which means I swell up (it sucks), but outside of that I feel well, and I think we’re doing ok
