Week 11: Gettin’ lazy…

10 weeks, 4 days.

I’m admittedly getting pretty lazy about posting and, well, pretty much everything else. I’m tired, see. Like, really tired.

Part of it is my German class, which shouldn’t be tiring anybody (it’s an undergraduate class, so…), but doing homework, getting myself down to campus, 2 hours of class, and getting home again is actually exhausting. It shouldn’t be, but that’s what being pregnant is about, I guess.

Most of it, though, is just my body saying “Hah! I don’t want to do anything, so bugger off, you…”. I guess I have to sort of presume everything is going ok in there, since I basically want to sleep all the time and have various other symptoms which make no sense outside of the context of things going on. That I even wonder at all is just a function of not being able to tell what’s going on in there otherwise and the rampant pessimism that seems to invade my brain when I’m tired.

And I’m even more disorganized and confused than usual. This combination of tired, lazy, disorganized and confused doesn’t mean great things for the house, if you get my drift. Poor Christian.

In other news, I’m starting to show, sort of, if you know what you’re looking for. It’s pretty early to show – most first-timers don’t yet – but I was fat to begin with, so think of it like the Princess and the Pea: a little pea under the mattresses makes a big lump at the top. No one would think I was pregnant if they didn’t know, but I can comfortably wear maternity clothes, even if they’re a bit loose, and it’s much better than cramming myself into jeans. I haven’t gained much weight (thankfully), so the only real explanation is actual baby action.

Teh Drama ™ I obliquely referred to in a previous post is sort of out of the picture for now. I’m not so stupid as to think it won’t return, but I’m enjoying the pause while it lasts. That kind of crap is about the last thing I want or need right now.

Otherwise, not much to report. Next week Friday is my 12-week appointment, and I have no idea what’ll happen there. I guess we’ll possibly hear the heartbeat, though I hear that’s tough with big girls like me, so we’ll see. In the meantime, I’d really love to take a nap. I’m debating doing my prenatal yoga before class, but going back to be sounds like much more fun…
